Israel can not simply be a spectator if a new government, taking power in Egypt, opted for an alliance with countries openly hostile
. The situation would look like that which prevailed before the Six Day War. The risk of having to fight a war on multiple fronts, with Hezbollah in the north and south with Hamas and Egypt is not politically acceptable by Israel. The return of Sinai to Egypt had been accepted by Israel against signing a peace treaty in 1979
which has always been respected by both parties, generating a situation of peace with the most powerful Arab .
